Michael A. Marinaccio frequently works with clients on cases involving volatile, high profile criminal and civil legal matters of extraordinary complexity. In July 1990, his firm successfully represented Salvatore Candela in one of the "Pizza Connection" federal drug conspiracy cases tried in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. In 1992, Mr. Marinaccio successfully represented several Italian American faculty and staff in their federal civil rights action against the City of New York in the Southern District of New York. Scelsa et al. v. CUNY et al. In 1997, Mr. Marinaccio was the lead attorney for the firm representing Vincent Gigante in the racketeering case prosecuted in the Eastern District of New York. During that trial, Mr. Marinaccio won universal praise for his cross examination of Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano. USA v. Gigante. Since 1999, Mr. Marinaccio has represented Riverbay Corporation, the owner and operator of Co-op City in Bronx, New York, the largest cooperative housing complex in the United States, in various legal matters. In 2000, Mr. Marinaccio's firm successfully represented Police Officer Richard Murphy in the Diallo shooting trial in Albany, New York. People v. Richard Murphy, et al. Later in 2000, Mr. Marinaccio successfully represented New York City Corrections Captain Mitchell Hochhauser who was accused of assaulting an inmate on Rikers Island. People v. Hochhauser In 2001, Mr. Marinaccio's firm obtained a 16.5 million dollar personal injury judgment against the State of New York in the New York State Court of Claims on behalf of a couple injured in an automobile accident. In March 2002, Mr. Marinaccio's firm obtained a complete acquittal for former New York City Police Officer Inspector Dennis Sindone in a federal drug corruption trial in the Southern District of New York. The former Deputy Inspector is the highest ranking NYPD officer ever indicted and tried on federal drug related charges. USA v. Denis Sindone. In April 2008, Mr. Marinaccio's firm successfully represented Detective Michael Oliver in Supreme Court Queens County, in the Sean Bell shooting case. People v. Michael Oliver, et al. In 2011, Mr. Marinaccio and his firm obtained a settlement valued at approximately twenty (20) million dollars on behalf of a client who was injured in a work site accident. In 2014, Mr. Marinaccio won an acquittal for a young man charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred in 2012.
